# Upcoming new storage options for On-premise deployments

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide the best experience and keep pace with modern technology, we’re introducing new options for storing attachments in on-premise environments.

Historically, storing attachments directly in the database was standard practice. However, as file sizes and data volumes have grown, this approach has started to impact system performance—particularly for on-premise setups. That’s why we’re introducing more efficient and scalable alternatives.

🔹 **Blob Storage (Cloud Integration)**\
You’ll be able to connect your on-premise instance to a cloud-based Blob Storage service for better scalability and reduced load on your infrastructure.\ **Availability****:** Already available, let us know if you are interested to migrate

### **What’s coming:**

🔹 **MinIO support**\
Looking for an open-source, high-performance option? MinIO will be available as a storage solution, offering flexibility while maintaining fast access to your files.\ **Availability****:** Starting from Q1 2026

🔹 **Local disk storage (Separate volume)**\
Prefer to keep everything local? We’ll provide guidance on configuring attachment storage on a separate disk within your server, improving performance without moving to the cloud.\ **Availability****:** Starting from Q1 2026

**Why it matters**

These updates are part of our broader initiative to modernize aqua’s architecture and give you greater control over how your system performs. By moving away from database-based file storage, you’ll experience better speed, stability, and long-term scalability.
